On April 1, 2006, my girlfriend and I initially
purchased three baby chicks and three baby ducks
because I love fresh eggs. We acquired them from a local farm and from what
we saw, we were the
only ones there purchasing pets, everyone else seemed to be purchasing
dinner. To our surprise, they
turned out to be great pets. They are very tame and very friendly,
each one with a distinct personality.
In their own way, they are also very loving and affectionate.
They run to us when we open their pen
door, each wanting to be picked up, held and cuddled. They even exhibit
jealousy of one another.
